JACOB WARREN | CREATIVE AND WORSHIP PASTOR
One interesting fact about me:
The first band I was in was a metal band where I screamed and played breakdowns. Whereas the next band I was in was basically a folk orchestra that featured hammer dulcimer, banjo, violin, and glockenspiel. This does a good job showing my ridiculously eclectic taste in music.
What do you do here at Veritas?
I am the Creative and Worship director, so that entails everything that happens during a Sunday morning worship service from the slides to the songs. Also I oversee service teams, leading trainings and caring for the leaders of our self-sacrificing volunteers.
How did you learn about Jesus?
I grew up in a Christian home and was privileged to have amazing God fearing parents who showed me Jesus from a very young age. I would later begin to walk closer with Jesus in college after joining a CRU bible study and seeing other young men taking their walk with Christ seriously. I owe much to the staff at Vintage Church in Raleigh, NC for their faithful preaching of the word and providing me opportunities to learn more about Jesus.
Favorite expression or phrase?
Favorite cup of coffee?
A pour over of Counter Culture (Ethiopian) black and piping hot.
You will never see me without...
Banjo picks and a pocket knife. (In my family if you ask a man if he has is knife he will reply "I got my pant's on don't I?" Or if asked for a knife and you don't have one you will quickly hear the reply "Well, what good are ya?")
Colossians 3:16-17; Ephesians 5:18-21.
