EACH WEEK, after every gathering, followers of Jesus scatter as the church into their neighborhoods, workplaces and schools to love God, love people, and advance the gospel. Why? Because the church isn’t a building you go to or an event you attend, the church is a family you belong to.
BUT WE HAVE A CHALLENGE: Since the beginning, Veritas has been transient. We have moved multiple times. We believe it is time for us to sink roots in this community and to that end, we are launching the Advance Initiative with two elements: Advance Local and Advance Global.
THE VISION OF THE ADVANCE INITIATIVE is to see the gospel of Jesus advance locally and globally. In an era of drastically shifting cultural norms, we believe that the good news of Jesus Christ remains the hope for the world. Jesus is the answer for every longing of the human heart. Our desire is to see his gospel advance locally in our community, and globally around the world. We long to see more disciples made, to see the city we live in flourish, to see more churches planted, and to see more missionaries sent. This is the motivation for the Advance Initiative.
Our goal is to raise $1 million over the next 3 years.
ADVANCE INITIATIVE BREAKDOWN
SINKING ROOTS:
We believe it’s time for us to purchase a building that will serve as a permanent home for Veritas and as a sending hub from which we can train and send church planters and missionaries to the nations.
WHAT’S THE BUILDING FOR?
Ultimately, the building is for Jesus and the mission he has given us to advance the gospel. Specifically, the building will be used for Sunday Gatherings, VeritasKids space, and our offices. It is also being designed as a space that can be used by the community throughout the week. It will be a hub from which we can make disciples, train church planters, and send people to the nations.
LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS:
We want to come alongside ministries and people doing gospel work in our city. To that end, a portion of funds from the Advance Initiative will be used to love our city through partner organizations.
WE ARE A CHURCH-PLANTING CHURCH.
We aren’t interested in building our own kingdom, but we are all about advancing the gospel of Jesus as God builds his kingdom. The planting of new churches is God’s plan-A for the advancement of his gospel, so a portion of the funds from the Advance Initiative will be used to plant churches.
