WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?
"Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved..."
(1 Corinthians 15:1-2 ESV)
We are kicking off 2017 with a four-week sermon series called "What is the Gospel?". The word 'gospel' simply means 'good news,' and we are going to see why the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus is actually the best news we could ever hear. Whether you would consider yourself a follower of Jesus or not, you need to hear this news over and over again.
The gospel is: Jesus in my place. The gospel is: Jesus come to save sinners. The gospel is: Jesus making all things new. It is incredibly simple and yet wonderfully complex.
THE EXPLICIT GOSPEL
We are encouraging everyone to read "The Explicit Gospel" by Matt Chanlder in connection with this series. Community Groups will be going through this book together as well.
You can buy the book on Amazon via the link to the right, or pick one up at our Connect Table on Sunday morning.
