Songs of the Redeemed

Songs of the Redeemed: Hope

“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David" Luke 1:68-69 ESV.

Advent is the coming of God to visit his people, not only that in Luke 1 and 2 we see that God is going to redeem them. At the hearing of this good news the people responded in songs of praise to God. Why would many of us feel removed from responding like this to the good news of Jesus’ coming today? Jesus’ first Advent must mean more than we realize. The fact that he came to redeem makes his coming again to make all things new all the more a reason for us to sing.
