The Authority of Jesus - John 5:19-29

When we die, we will stand before God in judgement. And like it or not, Jesus will be your judge. The good news in this passage is that Jesus not only has the authority to judge but he has the power to grant eternal life - because he is God.

Jesus the Healer - John 4:46-5:18

In the gospel, Jesus removes social, racial, and cultural barriers that keep us from him, covers our shame, and satisfies us with himself. The result of being changed by Jesus is proclaiming the good news of who he is to others.

The Word Made Flesh - John 1:1-5

This week we are starting our series in the Gospel of John. In this study, we will be looking at the incarnate life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus verse by verse. He wrote this Gospel so that those who didn't know Jesus would see him and come to know him through the book and find life and salvation in his name. John 1:1-5 shows us that because Jesus is God, he has the power to give us new life in his name. Jesus is fully and truly God.

9. A Missional Community

For the last week of gospel centered community we are putting what we have learned into practice by necessity. Due to recommendations by our governor we cannot meet in groups more than 100 so we are gathering in small groups to worship together through word and song. This week Ryan teaches that in order to carry out the mission of Jesus we must be a friend of sinners.

4. Faith Working Through Love

We are called to love one another in deed and truth. We will never accomplish this how God intends, unless we understand how faith and the work of Christ provides the foundation and motivation for us to love others. Through Jesus, we have received acceptance, forgiveness, adoption and love from God that nothing can separate us from. When we receive God's grace, this is when we are able to love others as God loves us.

3. How the Gospel Shapes Us In Community

The gospel creates community by transforming us to begin treating others in the way that Jesus has treated us. Because of what Jesus has done, we have been given a new identity. Our life has now been hidden in Christ, so that whatever is true of him is now true of us. His life is counted as our life and his death is counted as our death. All that is his has become ours. We need to put to death what remains of our old life. In Colossians 3:12-17, Paul tells us to put on Jesus and his character and to put on Jesus and his gospel.

1. Created for Community

We have been created for community, but we have also been re-created for community. Jesus died on a cross to bring us together to make a family. He restores and reconciles us not only to God, but also to each other. This is why community centered on the Gospel matters.

Introduction To The Gospel Centered Community

This week, speaker Ryan Ross introduces our 10 week series based off of “The Gospel Centered Community”. 1 John 4:7-12 tells us of God’s love and makes 3 distinct points. We should love one another because God is love. We are free to love others because he loved us first. Finally, loving one another shows off God’s redeeming love to the world.

4. The Promise of the King

Jesus is more than a baby and more than just a king. He is the God of Heaven. This two year old baby is living a fully human life all while upholding the universe as God. He took on all that we are so that we can take on all that is his. He came to live a human life so that he can stand in our place. There is no news like the good news that he brings.
